Terms & Conditions

1.      The Resident agrees to be bound by these terms and conditions.

2.      Peterborough House may only be used for residential purposes.

3.      Check in shall be from 2 pm on the arrival date and check out by no later than 11 am on the departure date.

4.      The maximum occupancy at Peterborough House is 25. The number of occupants must not exceed this number. No tents allowed.

5.      The landlord reserves the right to take immediate possession of this property, should the number of occupants exceed the number of guests stated on the Guests Registration Form. There will be NO refund or discount if the
accommodation number is exceeded.

6.      The Resident must ensure that Peterborough House is kept secure at all times.

7.      The Resident must ensure that its use of Peterborough House does not create a disturbance to neighbours or the community. 

8.      Smoking is strictly prohibited inside Peterborough House.

9.      No naked flames (i.e. candles, lanterns, etc) may be left unattended at Peterborough House.  There are to be no open fires anywhere on the property.

10.    On the departure date the Resident must ensure that all rubbish is removed from inside Peterborough House and is left in the outside bins provided. 

11.    On the departure date the Resident must leave Peterborough House in the same condition it was in on the arrival date.  If Peterborough House is not left in the same condition then the Resident shall be liable to pay to return Peterborough House to the same condition.  Costs shall be charged at a rate of $50 per hour with a minimum charge of one hour. 

12.    A Refundable Security Deposit of $1000 is required. This will be held until the premises have been inspected on guests’ departure. Deductions from the security deposit may be claimed for damages, breakages, additional cleaning, repositioning of moved furniture, and removal of excess rubbish. Refund of the security deposit will be made via Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT) within 14 days of guests’ departure.

13.    The rights granted to the Resident are specific to the Resident and its invitees only.  These rights may not be assigned and Peterborough House must not be sub-let.

14.    The Resident must immediately notify the owner of any loss, damage or destruction to Peterborough House and shall be responsible for any such loss, damage or destruction.

15.    The following terms and conditions relate to bookings and cancellations:

(a)    a 25% deposit is required to secure all bookings;

(b)    the balance of payment is required on the later of 60 days prior to the arrival date or the date a booking is made;

(c)    if a booking is cancelled more than 60 days from the arrival date the 25% deposit will be forfeited;

(d)    if a booking is cancelled within 30 to 60 days of the arrival date an amount equivalent to 50% of the total cost of the booking will be forfeited;

(e)    if a booking is cancelled within 30 days of the arrival date the full payment will be forfeited; and

(f)    a refundable security deposit of one nights accommodation is required to cover any costs and expenses arising from a breach of these terms and conditions.

16.    “Peterborough House” means the possessions, buildings and grounds located at 9 Irvine Road, Peterborough, Victoria.

17.    “Resident” means the person or persons making a booking to stay at Peterborough House.

18.    The Resident is responsible for all visitors, guests and invitees to Peterborough House during their stay.  Any breach of these terms and conditions by any visitor, guest or invitee shall constitute a breach by the Resident. 

19.    If the Resident breaches these terms and conditions Peterborough House must immediately be vacated and the Resident shall pay any costs and expenses arising from the default and forfeit any amount paid.
