Moments from the main beach and river, boat ramps and general store, Peterborough House boasts family-friendly attractions including the shorefront playground, nearby tennis courts and the beautifully maintained links golf course offering views of the majestic Southern Ocean.

The 12 Apostles

These breathtaking limestone stacks off the shore of Port Campbell National Park are one of the region’s most beloved attractions. The glowing sunrise and sunset illuminating the limestone monuments towering above the Southern Ocean is a not-to-be-missed experience.

The Shipwreck Coast

Brimming with maritime history and scenic attractions, it’s believed that at least 700 ships were wrecked along this stretch of the South-Western Victoria coastline, with fewer than a third of the wrecks recovered. Idyllic in calm weather, the often-blustery conditions and rough southern waters made sea voyages especially dangerous. Follow the Historic Shipwreck Trail that signposts 25 of the best-known wrecks along the way, including Loch Ard Gorge – take a picnic basket, swim, relax and spend the day.

The Foodies Trail

Follow the 12 Apostles Gourmet Trail, a 75-kilometre self-guided loop (maps available) that starts in Port Campbell, taking in some of the area's best food producers on a meandering drive through the beautiful hinterland, sampling premium cheeses, milk, berries, whiskey, wine and chocolate.

The Great Ocean Road

Studded with natural attractions, the National Heritage listed Great Ocean Road hugs the region’s rugged coastlines, sweeping cliffs, sandy beaches, and windswept heathlands, offering visitors a dramatic and memorable journey.

Marine Parks and Reserves

Abundant natural wonders and nearby nature reserves offer visitors a chance to experience the Twelve Apostles Marine National Park, Port Campbell National Park and Marengo Reefs Marine Sanctuary, all in easy reach of Peterborough House.

The Bay of Islands

Stretching 32km along the coast between Warrnambool and Peterborough, two viewing platforms along the stunning limestone cliffs of The Bay of Islands offer uninterrupted ocean views over the rock stacks of the bay. Spot a variety of rare plant life – including the spectacular sun orchid — and look out for black-faced cormorants.
